Infinity Brushless Motor Maiden Report
I put this motor on my GWS P51 plane which is a little heavier than normal since it is glassed. I ran on 11x7 and 5.28 - H GWS Gearbox. The plane took off verticle and just kept increasing in speed. It was not only amazing, but alot of fun. I ran most of the flight at 1/2 throttle and my buds thought it was pretty cool - then I'd slam on the throttle and do a fast flyby - very cool. Two full speed direct crashes at full speed into the dirt and this motor is still running fine.
What's unique about this motor ?
No solderering required. It comes with 3.5mm connectors soldered on the motor. A great 20mm heat sink is also included which fits perfectly into a 400 size gearbox. I chose this heat sink specially for this motor and it fits perfectly as well as inside a 400 size gearbox. The Infinity motor has a 2.3mm drive shaft, which fits all GWS pinions perfectly. No mods needed to anything - just slide it in a high geared gearbox and have fun.
My experience flying this motor
Please do not run this in less than a 'H' - 5.25 gearbox unless you reduce the prop size. If you want to run 11x7 props please increase the gearing - this motor is extremely fast and although Larger than 11x7 prop will surely burn up the motor, ESC and battery. The 11x7 may be too much since it pulls 20 amps. The charts show that 10x4.7 or 10x6 are very good with this motor on 5.28 gearing. Try an 'I' gearing for an 11x7.
